NKWO MARKET PROJECT

Nkwo Igbo-Ukwu is one of the largest rural markets in Anambra State. Its construction or reconstruction was delayed for so long. However, in the early 1980s, the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Chieftaincy Affairs had given a go-ahead directive to the Aguata Local Government for its construction. This approval was given in cognizance of the importance and the major role of the market in the economic life and well-being of the Local Government Area and beyond.
